Chinar Primary School, the primary wing of Sainik School Nagrota, celebrated its Annual Cultural Fest 2023 at Sainik School Auditorium on December 2, 2023. The event was graced by the presence of Dr (Mrs) Namita Singh, Zonal Vice President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) as the Chief Guest for the occasion. Capt (IN) AK Desai, Principal of Sainik School Nagrota and Chairman of CPS, Lt Col Amit Selot, Vice Principal, the Academic Secretary of CPS also honored the event with their presence. The event witnessed the participation of parents, distinguished guests, and the school community.
The Fest commenced with a formal welcome extended to Chief Guest Dr (Mrs) Namita Singh, who illuminated the traditional lamp, marking the inauguration of the cultural extravaganza. Keeping in line with the G-20 theme of “One Earth One Family, One Future” inspired from “ VasudhaivaKutambakam”,the theme for this year's event was "Globe is our home," emphasizing global unity and cultural diversity. Various captivating performances were presented by the talented students of CPS, including the 'Global Welcome' showcasing multi-ethnic cultures, the rhythmic 'Musical Ballot,' 'EkTareek, EkGhanta-SwachataAbhiyan' promoting cleanliness, and an enchanting 'Afghani Attan' performance.
MrsParveenakhtar Desai, Headmistress of Chinar Primary School, then presented the School Annual Report, shedding light on the remarkable achievements of the institution during the Academic Session 2023-24. The cultural program continued with vibrant presentations such as 'Shanziwu,' The Stone Soup Symphony, 'Musical Notes' by CPS Band, 'Cowboy Dance,' a mesmerizing 'Persian Sufi' performance, and a grand finale titled 'Ethnic India.'
The event reached its pinnacle with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherethe Chief Guest Dr (Mrs) Namita Singh presented Trophies to the top three houses viz. Tagore House (IC MrsMeena Sharma, MrsSukanyaChib and Mrs Puja Chalotra ), Gandhi House (IC MrsRenu Devi, Mrs Ajay Shakti and MrsShallu Sharma) and the Champions Nehru House (ICMrsSampati Mahajan, Mr Rakesh Pandita and Mrs Sony Kumari) aknowledging their outstanding contributions. Expressing her delight, Chief Guest Dr (Mrs) Namita Singh commended the energetic performances of the children and applauded the dedicated efforts of the school administration and staff in nurturing the talents of the students on every front. The Chief Guest further emphasized on focusing on inculcating right virtues and values in our children. . In appreciation of the dedication of staff, the school administration awarded certificates to the all the teachers, Mr RS Dayal, Art Master, SSN and MrGhendaLal as well.
The program concluded on a high note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by MrsRenu, Academic Coordinator, followed by a delightful high tea, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the attendees. Chinar Primary School takes pride in fostering a holistic educational environment that not only focuses on academic excellence but also recognizes the importance of cultural and artistic expression in shaping well-rounded individuals.
